I stayed here by chance not knowing much about it. Everything was fantastic. The parties are there in the evenings so I didn’t have to go far. The location is convenient to everything. The room was beautiful and comfortable. I did have to wear ear plugs until 1am once I decided to go up but that is to be expected when you are staying where the party is. The weekend underwear party was great except a little too packed for safety.
I stayed at Gifford under the old ownerhship-before it was renovated. It was, literally, a place where you said to yourself "wow, this has so much potential".
Well, potential realized! The new owner has done a number on the place, a super smart renovation. The bones were there, but boy does this place feel completely different. Feels current, modern, great vibe/great energy. The room was great. Brand new, fancy and soft sheets and pillows. Brand new AC. Brand new carpeting and furniture. And...for me one of the best selling points, a brand spanking newly renovated bathroom. Super chic. Whoever did this has great taste. Location is fantastic, always was. The bar in the lobby and the purgatory club are loud, but they close at 1 am on the dot. If you can handle noise til 1 (honestly- I was in ptown for only a few days, and didn't get in until 1 or later), then you're good to go. Highly recommend.
Title: A Truly Memorable Stay at the Gifford House Hotel - Highly Recommended!
Rating: ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐
I recently had the absolute pleasure of staying at the Gifford House Hotel, and I can confidently say that it exceeded all my expectations. It is a perfect amalgamation of comfort, elegance, and excellent service. From the moment I arrived until my departure, the experience was nothing short of perfection.
The newly renovated spaces are simply stunning. They've done an impressive job in creating a harmonious blend of modernity and traditional elegance, providing a sense of comfort while leaving room for tasteful luxury. Every corner of the hotel is beautifully decorated and meticulously maintained, reflecting an exquisite attention to detail that made the experience that much more special.
As someone who values location greatly while traveling, I couldn't ask for a better spot. The hotel is ideally situated, with all of the city's main attractions just a short, pleasant walk away. It was incredibly convenient to be at the heart of it all, and yet when I returned to the hotel, I found a serene retreat that was just as inviting.
I particularly enjoyed the unique atmosphere that the Gifford House Hotel had to offer. During the day, it was a peaceful haven - a quiet escape from the hustle and bustle of the city. Come night, the hotel transformed, radiating a vibrant energy that was infectious and fun.
The room I stayed in was immaculately clean and well-appointed, featuring all the amenities that a guest could need. I was impressed by the team's effort in maintaining such a high standard of cleanliness and hygiene.
One cannot talk about the Gifford House Hotel without mentioning its wonderful staff. Every team member I encountered was welcoming, friendly, and genuinely eager to make my stay as pleasant as possible. They were a key part in making my visit memorable.
In conclusion, if you're looking for a hotel with an excellent location, beautifully renovated spaces, a peaceful yet vibrant atmosphere, immaculate rooms, and a warm, friendly staff, look no further than the Gifford House Hotel. I wholeheartedly recommend it to anyone visiting the area. I know for certain that I can't wait to return!
I left the hotel feeling appreciated and thoroughly cared for. So here's to the Gifford House Hotel - keep doing what you're doing, because it's absolutely fantastic!
The rooms are bare minimum, which is fine. The location is fantastic, only a 5-minute walk from Commercial St. The reception staff are incredibly kind. However, our experience at the hotel was not pleasant due to the noise levels. Yes, they do let you know on their website that their events go until 1 am meaning there will be music until 1, but during one of these events a glass fell over in our room due to how much the loud music was shaking everything around. It was way louder than expected. Also, IF the music stops on time (it went until about 1:15 one night for us), that doesn't mean loud people won't still hang out in the lounge, singing screaming and playing the piano until literally the morning. They don't kick people out at 1, even if that's when their parties end. So, I'd say unless you really want to participate in these events and are a big night owl, this will not be a good fit for you and was not a good fit for me.
Loved my stay at the Gifford House! The location can’t be beat, the staff are lovely, and the energy is just right. The inn was recently renovated so the room and bathroom were beautiful. The patio bar is fantastic; great decor and wonderful bartenders. Couldn’t recommend staying here more!!
We used to stay here before the new owners bought the Gifford house. Needless to say we were a tad nervous about changes to our favorite place to stay in ptown…. And it is some of the most amazing improvements I have seen. Bringing this queer icon to the styling of the 21st century queer movement. I will solely be staying here in ptown from now on! And don’t get me started on all the outlets reopening. Thank you to the new management and owners of Gifford!!!
Made a reservation at this Inn upon recommendation from a co-worker for a long weekend with my significant other of 24 years. In fact, our anniversary would have taken place while at the Inn. No special plans, just a getaway weekend. Unfortunately, I found out on 09/13/2023 that I would have to have surgery on 10/6/2023. With the recovery period involved, there is no way that I will be able to make the trip. Phoned the Inn to cancel the reservation and explained my situation and the reason for cancellation. Keeping my approx. $700.00 deposit with an apology. Needless to say, I will not be making a new reservation. What this business doesn't appear to understand is that I will tell any and everyone who asks for a recommendation in Provincetown "not" to book at this Inn. It may be all kinds of "friendly", except for your checkbook if an emergency comes up, or as in my case, something unexpected. Shame on you, Steven. Friendly stops where your wallet is concerned. Your cancellation policy is absurd, but maybe I've just now figured out why this is so. Your place is so noisy and not so friendly that your organization has to resort to "financial coercion" for guests to come and stay. Learned my lesson.... Hope this review helps others before they lose their hard-earned money as well.
Very cosy and has a breakfast bar, a drink bar on the 2nd floor, and a very friendly staff. I would definitely recommend and stay there again.
